If you are wanting to make your own reed type diffuser but make it GREEN, try the new Stonewick StoneScent sticks. These sticks are made to be used with just fragrance and water. You can smell them working in only minutes after you put them into the vase with the water and fragrance. What is really great about them is you can control how strong the fragrance is by adding more or less to the water. When the water gets low in the vase all you have to do is just add more water. Flipping the sticks over will also increase the amount of fragrance strength.

You can check out the the GREEN diffuser system at Stonewick.com

Your wick will need
to be cleaned from time to time after long use and with certain fuels.
The cotton wick will get clogged with certain impurities in the fuels no
matter what brand you use. The stone also will get clogged.

The best way to clean them is to soak them overnight in at least a 91% or higher

isopropyl alcohol. Use a small jar such as a baby food jar or something
close to that size. On many wicks that have deposits that have built
up on the cotton portion of the wick you will see the alcohol begin to
leach out the deposits.

You
can either dry out the wick completely before the next use or just pull
them from the jar and use them in the lamp. Be careful lighting them
if doing it this way.

Make sure you wipe off any alcohol that might have
dripped down the side of the lamp before lighting. As always never fill the lamp or jar over furniture. Alcohol will destroy the finish on your...

Fragrance lamp perfumes are like fine wines, they have several layers or notes that you can detect after you light them. Here is a quick study of how to describe the different layers or notes.

The Profile
of a fragrance
is the overall description and classification of the fragrance. The
profile
includes the top, middle and bottom note of a fragrance as well as
defining it
as a fruit, floral, woody, etc. type of fragrance.

Top Note is the first accord or
fragrance experience upon the sense of
smell. Chemically the top note is the most volatile material in the
composition
of a fragrance. Citrus fruits are classic top notes. If the fragrance
has
multiple layers to it, the top note fades quickly introducing the middle
