What is the big difference?  The cotton portion of the wick is now replaceable.  It is the only catalytic fragrance lamp wick on the market that you can easily replace the cotton portion of the wick.  The top of the wick never clogs up so replacing the cotton is the best thing out there.  Use a new one with each change of fragrance. You can also soak used ones to clean them out when they get clogged up. 

The new wick will go on sale in just a few weeks.  Check it out it just might be the answer to all your fragrance lamp woes.

The best way to clean them is to soak them overnight in at least a 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol.  Use a small jar such as a baby food jar or something close to that size.  On many wicks that have deposits that have built up on the cotton portion of the wick you will see the alcohol begin to leach out the deposits. 

You can either dry out the wick completely before the next use or just pull them from the jar and use them in the lamp.  Be careful lighting them if doing it this way.
